Azerbaijani Emergencies Ministry holds first board meeting
Necessary documents on ratifying the Ministry’s emblem and flag were prepared and submitted to the President’s Office.
Salaries of the ministry’s employees increased and activities for improving their social welfare continue. The ministry bought 30 BMW motorcycles, 2 ambulances, 53 fire engines, 10 VAZ automobiles, 12 buses from Turkey, equipment from Belarus, 2 Hammer cars and 8 boats.
Two helicopters and four big motor-launches have been ordered from Russia and two ladders have been ordered from Finland.
Mr. Heydarov said that five criminal cases were investigated by the ministry’s investigation department and the results were submitted to the related bodies. The Minister said the department provided payment of damage of AZN 779,858.
40 modular settlements were bought for water rescuing and they are being installed in beaches at present. 362 were rescued in the sea last year. Despite these activities, 6 died in state-owned beaches and 11 in private beaches.
Documents of 1,273 building projects were reviewed and the shortcomings in the documents of 550 establishments were removed. Fire safety rules were inspected in over 68,000 establishments. The Minister said that regional centers of Emergencies Ministry will be commissioned in Gabala and Aghdam regions this year.
Deputy Emergencies Minister Etibar Mirzayev said that 2,818 fire cases happened in the country last year. As a result of these accidents 19 died. 1,035 fire cases were recorded in the first quarter of this year and as a result of it 26 died.
Mr. Mirzayev said that 53 fire engines, 1 barrel and ladder made in France, 84 equipment made in German company Zigler and 88 equipment made in French company Camila will be brought this year. Besides, some equipment has been ordered for firefighters.
Mirzayev underlined that the ministry have taken over 30,000 fire safety measures and noted that chiefs and employees of some firefighting departments were dismissed for shortcomings and punished. /APA/
