Azerbaijan Democratic Party withdraws case against Akif Shahbazov

Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) withdrew the case against leader of Open society Party, former chief of ADP Supreme Assembly Akif Shahbazov, ADP deputy chief Taliyet Aliyev told the APA.
Aliyev said that they appealed to court as they expressed position on behalf of the ADP and reports spread about a decision on renaming ADP.
â€œBut they submitted foundation documents to court and it became clear that they have no claims concerning ADP, they only set up a new party. As there was no clause on renaming ADP in the documents we withdrew the case,â€ he said.
Shahbazov also told the APA that there was no clause on renaming ADP in the documents.
â€œWe refused the partyâ€™s name and set up a new party. We saw no need to discuss the name,â€ he said. /APA/
