Day of Azerbaijani Republic was marked in the Pourtalès castle in Strasbourg on May 29, APA’s correspondent in Strasbourg reports. Secretary General of the Council of Europe Terry Davis, Secretary of the Council of Europe Venice Commission Giovanni Buquicchio, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Strasbourg, Azerbaijani officials and students participated in the reception organized by Azerbaijani permanent representation to the Council of Europe.
Azerbaijani representative Arif Mammadov gave information about May 28 – Day Republic. Winner of several contests, 10-year old Elvin Geniyev played on the violin. He performed two works by great Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev and Georges Bizet’s Carmen opera. /APA/
