“The measures taken to combat corruption in Azerbaijan are satisfactory,†head of President’s Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev said, APA reports.
He said that arrest of former ministers Ali Insanov and Ferhad Aliyev is a proof of Azerbaijani government’s anticorruption policy.
“The position of Azerbaijani government against corruption is obvious,†he said.
Commenting on Ali Insanov’s regarding himself as political prisoner Mehdiyev said that anyone tried for his illegal actions can not regard himself as a political prisoner.
“They do not think that they have violated law. Unfortunately, some do not see their mistakes, and politicize it when legal measures are taken about them,†he said. /APA/
