Classical Popular Front, Azerbaijan National Democratic and Independence Parties concluded an agreement on the establishment of Alliance for Democracy, APA reports.
The chief of Classic Popular Front Party (CPFP) Mirmahmud Miralioglu made a report on the principles of partnership at the meeting. He stated that the organization will be of consultation character and it is not preparation for the presidential elections to be held in 2008. The Alliance will try to cooperate with all the democratic forces for the establishment of democracy. Azerbaijan National Democratic Party’s chief Isgandar Hamidov said that opposition has fallen into a disgrace.
“Today opposition can not convince the nation with anything. The nation admits negatively the tension occurred between the parties. These parties avoid any partnership when enemy countries conclude agreements. We aim to gather all the parties together”, he said.
Hamidov said he does not exclude that the organization can be electoral bloc in future.
“These issues will be debated at time”, Hamidov said.
Independence Party’s chief Ahmad Oruj said that alliance for democracy will lean against national-democratic values.
“Today Azerbaijani opposition is decent. Some incline to Islamic line, others to Western line. And this alliance will represent Azerbaijani side”, he said. /APA/
