Israeli MPs attend event on Holocaust at Azerbaijan University of Languages

Israeli Knessetâ€™s vice-speakers Amnon Koen, Gideon Saar, MPs Ran Koen and Robert Ilatov participated in the event on Holocaust held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages at the invitation of â€œSokhnutâ€ Worldwide Jewish Agency.
After the meeting, Knesset members told journalists the aim of the Baku visit, APA reports. â€œThe main aim of the visit is to meet Azerbaijan, Georgia and Uzbekistan Jewish community members. Because, Jewish communities play significant role in the strengthening of bilateral relations. Moreover, we intend to visit parliamentarians and Ministersâ€.
Stressing the continuing development of Azerbaijanâ€“Israel relations, Israeli MPs said more than 100 thousand Azerbaijanis live in Israel. â€˜They consider themselves Azerbaijanis. Because, their ancestors lived in Azerbaijanâ€.
Answering the question on newly-discovered mass burial places in Guba region, Israeli MPs said they are against genocide as Jewish nation suffered from massacres and intend to visit the region tomorrow. â€œWe will meet Jewish community members in Guba and Azerbaijani scientists. If the fact of Jewish massacres proved we will raise the issue in the Knesset.â€ /APA/
