Ex-minister’s appeal to Azerbaijani President publicized
“At last we met with Fikret Yusifov. He said that his friends have special attitude towards me and one day he said Rasul Guliyev wants money to return to the country, but he did not say what the money will be spent on. When I understood that the money is to be spent not on returning and election campaign, but rallies, it was too late. Fikret Yusifov once invited me to his summer-house. The main reason of the visit was Eldar Salayev’s eye surgery but we also spoke about Rasul Guliyev’s returning to Baku and I did not protest to his returning. Akif Muradverdiyev also was there. He is my neighbor and we came there together. When I met with Fikret Yusifov to give him money and already knew Rasul Guliyev’s wish to return. I told Fikret Yusifov that I am against Rasul Guliyev’s returning and it will not have good results. So, Fikret Yusifov involved me in Rasul Guliyev’s plans, the man whom I hated for a long time. Rasul Guliyev did not want my aid, he wanted you to hate me and revenge me for my campaign against him. I regret that I did not inform you of these reports. Mr. President, it is unforgivable that I was involved in Rasul Guliyev’s plans. But I know you are kind-hearted and humanist. I ask you to forgive me, taking into account my good offices for Heydar Aliyev. If you forgive me taking into account that I am 60, underwent surgery several times and have health problems you will give me second life,†the letter says.
