“Espionage attempts against Türkiye have been exposed and thwarted,” said the head of the National Intelligence Organization of Türkiye (MIT), Ibrahim Kalin, in an article he authored on the occasion of the organization’s 99th anniversary, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.

Ibrahim Kalin noted that Türkiye is continuously strengthening its capabilities in the field of counterintelligence.

"It is not surprising that a powerful and influential state like Türkiye is a target of espionage activities. Against the backdrop of the rapid change in intelligence methods, the introduction of new tools such as online operations, front structures, the use of organized crime groups, as well as the use of detectives, we operate with high vigilance and increasing capabilities in the field of counterintelligence.

Precisely over the past year, activities and agent networks directed against our country have been exposed, and espionage attempts have been thwarted. Our efforts in this field will continue decisively and without interruption,” the MIT chief emphasized.
