Türkiye closely monitoring recent developments in Syria, said Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense, Yaşar Güler, APA reports, citing the Turkish media.
“The Syrian government is conducting counterterrorism operations in Aleppo to ensure citizens’ security and public order based on the principle of equality of all ethnic groups. We consider Syria’s security to be our own security and support its fight against terrorist organizations,” Yaşar Güler emphasized.
It should be noted that Syria’s Ministry of Defense has announced the declaration of a ceasefire in areas of Aleppo controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
It is recalled that the time granted to the SDF has already expired. The Syrian army has begun bombing PKK/YPG positions to ensure the country’s territorial integrity.
The number of civilians killed in clashes between the SDF and the Syrian army in Aleppo has reached 21, while 55 people have been injured.
More than 100,000 people have left the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods, where fighting is ongoing.
