The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has commented on the claims that Turkish soldiers will participate as peacekeepers after a ceasefire is reached in Ukraine, APA's Türkiye Bureau reports.
The ministry's statement emphasized that the Turkish army is ready to contribute to peace and stability: "Wherever there is a need for peace, security and stability, the Turkish Armed Forces come to mind first, because their capabilities, influence and prestige are high.
First, it is important to ensure a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. Then, it is necessary to clearly define the mission and tasks and determine the extent to which each country will help.
The Turkish Armed Forces are ready to contribute to any project that will create security and stability in the region," the ministry's statement said.
