The Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MoD) has announced that anti-terror operations in Syria are being conducted by the Syrian Army, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
The ministry’s statement noted that public order is being ensured by the Syrian government.
“Against the backdrop of four people being killed and 18 others injured as a result of the terrorist organization targeting civilians and security forces, the Syrian government has launched a counter-terrorism operation in Aleppo to ensure public order and the safety of its citizens. This operation is being carried out entirely by the Syrian Army,” the statement said.
The statement also noted that in January, the Turkish Armed Forces destroyed 743 kilometers of tunnels belonging to terrorists in Syria: “The total length of the destroyed tunnels has reached 743 kilometers, including a 2-kilometer tunnel neutralized in Manbij. Thus, all tunnels detected in Tel Rifaat and 91% of those in Manbij have been destroyed.”
