Turkish Airlines and Türkiye's low-cost carrier AJet said Wednesday they have canceled a total of 114 flights scheduled for Jan. 1 because of expected adverse weather conditions across parts of Türkiye, APA reports citing Türkiye Today.
Turkish Airlines said 50 flights were canceled, while AJet announced the cancellation of 64 flights.
Turkish Airlines Communications Director Yahya Ustun said in a statement shared on X that some flights were canceled due to adverse weather conditions.
“Due to adverse weather conditions continuing to affect the eastern and central regions of our country, 50 of our flights scheduled for Jan. 1 have been mutually canceled,” Ustun said. “Our passengers can follow the latest status of their flights and options regarding ticket procedures via turkishairlines.com and our mobile application. Flight safety is always our priority.”
