A Utair Airlines aircraft flying from Dubai to Moscow circled in the air for an hour after sending a distress signal, Gazeta.ru writes, citing the Flightradar service, APA reports.
According to the report, the Boeing 767-224 (flight UT 716) took off from Al Maktoum Airport and was scheduled to land at Vnukovo Airport at 21:15 Moscow time. However, some time after takeoff, the aircraft’s crew transmitted the emergency code “7700.”
The plane landed at Al Maktoum International Airport at 18:37 local time (17:37 Moscow time).
Utair said there were no concerns for passengers or crew.
The company said the crew had decided to return to the airport of departure due to technical reasons. Before landing, the plane had to burn fuel to reach the permitted weight in accordance with regulations.
