Farajollah Shoushtari, the son of a general of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed during protest rallies in Iran, APA reports, citing the Tasnim news agency.
The incident occurred in the city of Mashhad.
According to the information, Farajollah Shoushtari was killed by protesters.
It is noted that his father, General Nuraly Shoushtari, served as deputy commander of the IRGC Ground Forces and as commander of the IRGC’s southeastern “Quds” Headquarters. He was killed in a suicide bombing in 2009.
It should be recalled that protest actions have been ongoing in Iran since December 28.
According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the death toll from the protests since late December has reached 65, with hundreds of people injured.
