North Korea fires ballistic missile towards Sea of Japan

North Korea today carried out a ballistic missile launch toward the Sea of Japan, APA reports, citing the Japan Coast Guard.

According to the information, the missiles launched from North Korean territory have already fallen into the sea.

The Japan Coast Guard warned vessels in the region, advising that if missile debris is discovered, they should not approach it and should immediately contact the Japanese authorities.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea’s Armed Forces also confirmed the information about North Korea’s missile launch.

Meanwhile, the “Kyodo” agency, citing government sources, reported that North Korea launched several ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan. It was stated that the missiles fell into the waters of the Sea of Japan outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

According to the Japan Ministry of Defense, this is North Korea’s second missile launch in 2026.
