The Italian ambassador has been summoned to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports citing Iranian media.
The move comes in response to comments made by Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani regarding SEPAH.
Iranian officials conveyed to the ambassador that designating SEPAH as a terrorist organization could have destructive consequences. They also requested that Tajani “correct his mistaken approach.”
Antonio Tajani has stated his intention to propose to European Union countries that SEPAH be recognized as a terrorist organization.
