An Iranian court has fined the United States $22 billion for its role in the protests in Iran in 2022, said Iranian Justice Ministry spokesman Asghar Jahangir, APA reports, citing Iranian media.

He said that the US state's footprint is clearly visible in numerous crimes since the Islamic Revolution in Iran. According to Asghar Jahangir, in connection with the death of Mahsa Amini in the fall of 2022, the US government and some circles, including Israel, tried to exploit public sentiment to achieve their goals, which led to numerous deaths and serious harm to people.

"In these riots, 307 people from the families of martyrs and veterans filed a legal claim against the US government, state, and military officials of that country, as well as provocateurs affiliated with them. The case was investigated, and a verdict was issued in the 55th General Law Court for International Relations of the Shahid Beheshti Judicial Complex," the spokesman for the Ministry of Justice stated.

He said that as a result of the court decision, a verdict was announced for America to pay Iran 22 billion dollars.

Note that after the death of Mahsa Amini at a police station in 2022, protests were held in Iran under the slogan "women, life, freedom".
