Iran still remains committed to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), said the spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baghaei, during a press conference of the ministry, APA reports.

"Within the framework of the agreement reached with the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran has tried to create an atmosphere of constructive cooperation under the new circumstances. Unfortunately, however, three European countries (the United Kingdom, Germany, and France) have not taken advantage of this goodwill approach. Iran had previously declared that any hostile action against our country, including attempts to reinstate canceled resolutions, would make the implementation of the Cairo agreement impossible," Ismail Baghaei said.

Note that some time ago, an agreement was reached between Iran and the IAEA in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

However, after the reimposition of European sanctions against Iran, official Tehran stated that this agreement had lost its meaning.
