Former South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol's detention period has been extended for 6 months, APA reports, citing Yonhap.

A Seoul court has charged the former president with sending a drone to North Korea and has ruled to extend his detention period by 6 months.

It was reported that Yoon Suk-Yeol ordered the head of the drone force to send a drone to North Korea without informing the Defense Ministry or the General Staff, and these allegations are being investigated.

It is alleged that the former president's goal in this was to provoke North Korea to take retaliatory action and to have an excuse to declare martial law in South Korea.

It should be noted that the former South Korean president's detention period was supposed to end on January 18.

Noted that he was impeached and removed from office by the parliament in December last year.
