China said on Monday it is willing to contribute to Syria’s safety and stability and would consider participating in its economic reconstruction, after China’s foreign minister met with his Syrian counterpart in Beijing, APA reports, citing Al Arabiya.
Syrian news agency SANA reported that al-Shaibani and Wang discussed “bilateral relations and explore avenues to further strengthen cooperation between Syria and China.”
China had been a strong ally to former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad before he was ousted in an armed opposition offensive late last year.
