The remains of a Turkish firefighting plane have been found, the pilot has died, Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı said, APA's Türkiye bureau reports.
"The remains of our firefighting plane belonging to the General Directorate of Forestry, whose communication was lost in Croatia, have been found near the city of Senj. I wish God's mercy on the pilot who died in this tragic accident, and patience to his family and loved ones. I offer my condolences to our forestry organization and our great people," the minister noted.

Turkish firefighting plane disappears from radar, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said, APA's Türkiye bureau reports.
"Two AT802 firefighting planes belonging to the General Directorate of Forestry of Turkey were heading to Zagreb, Croatia for a technical inspection and diverted to Reka Airport due to adverse weather conditions.
One of the planes landed safely, but radio contact with the other was lost at 18:25. Search and rescue operations have been launched in conjunction with Croatian officials to find the missing plane and pilot," the ministry said.
