Baku-APA. At least 22 people have been killed in an attack by suspected Ugandan rebels in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), APA reports quoting AA.
Rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces and National Army for the Liberation of Uganda (ADF-NALU) attacked the eastern town of Beni in the North Kivu region early Saturday, killing 22 people, the local media reported.
Ten women and eight children were among the victims, according to the media.
On Thursday, 26 people were reportedly killed in an attack by ADF-NALU rebels in the town.
For nearly two years, the DRC army has been fighting the ADF-NALU rebel group, which has recently extended its reach into the southeastern DRC.
