Baku-APA. Three civilians were killed on Monday and four others seriously injured in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Sudan's East Darfur State, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"Gunmen riding on camels opened fire at a gathering of people during a marriage celebration at Al-Qirfa area of Adila locality in East Darfur State which resulted in the killing of three people and serious injuring of four others," the report said.

"The attackers opened heavy fire on the defenseless civilians before they fled," it added.

According to Sudan tribune, the incident could be relating to the disputes between Ma'lia and Hamar tribes in the region where clashes took place between the two factions that left scores dead and over 72 others injured three months ago.

East Darfur State has been witnessing a crisis of tribal conflicts since August last year due to disputes over land ownership.
