Baku-APA. Authorities in Nigeria on Saturday confirmed the death toll rose to 86 in the six-storey Synagogue church building that collapsed on Sept. 12 in the country's southwestern state of Lagos, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The church building had been used as a guest house, where most of the occupants were religious worshippers from South Africa.
Charles Otegbade, the director for search and rescue with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) of Nigeria, told reporters Saturday that experts from his country have been working swiftly with experts from South Africa, using forensic tests to identify the dead in the accident.
The 131 other people injured in the collapsed building had been hospitalized.
