Baku-APA. Tribal clashes erupted again on Monday in the Algerian province of Adrar, some 2,400 km southwest the capital Algiers, killing another person and bringing the death toll in the past five days to nine, a medical source said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The fresh clashes occurred in Bordj Badji Mokhtar city only two days after a ceasefire had been agreed upon between the rivaling Arab tribe of Barabiche and the Tuareg tribe of Idnane.

Knives, iron bars, stones and Molotov cocktails were used in Monday's clashes, a local source told Xinhua.

So far, nine people have been killed and more than 60 others injured since the beginning of the violence on Thursday. The injured were given first aid treatment at home instead of in hospital for fear of being recorded and sued in court.

An Adrar court is expected to open a case involving 40 young men arrested during the recent clashes. They are charged of murders and acts of vandalism against houses and cars.

On Thursday, a robber and a store owner got into a fight, which soon developed into a mass confrontation after their relatives got involved.
