Baku-APA. At least two people were killed and several others injured on Friday during clashes between security forces and supporters of ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi across the country, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The state TV reported that one was killed in Fayoum governorate south of the capital Cairo. The other was killed in similar clashes in Upper Egypt's Menia governorate, according to official MENA news agency.

Since Morsi's ouster in last July, Islamists have been holding protests against the current interim leadership.

Friday's marches were staged in various parts of the country including Cairo, Giza, Fayoum, Alexandria.

The government arrested tens of Morsi's supporters, mostly from the Muslim Brotherhood group, which was declared by the interim government last December as "a terrorist organization."

Also on Friday, at least six people, including four policemen, were wounded as a blast hit two police vehicles at a checkpoint over a bridge in Giza governorate.

In a televised statement, Ashraf Abdullah, Assistant Interior Minister for Central Security, condemned the Brotherhood as "the reason for all the recent terrorist blasts."

Terrorist attacks mounted following Morsi's removal as hardline extremist groups supporting him call for his reinstatement and refer to his ouster as "a military coup."

Over the past few weeks, a string of blasts and terrorist attacks targeting police facilities and personnel hit Cairo, Suez and Sinai, killing at least 20 people and injuring about 120.
