16 killed, 80 wounded in Chad suicide bomb attack

Baku-APA. A suicide bomb attack on Saturday killed 16 people and injured 80 others in Chad's capital N'Djamena, national police spokesman Paul Manga said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Manga said the man dressed as a woman wearing a burqa detonated the explosives when the police tried to arrest him at the southern entrance of the central market in N'Djamena, adding that the suicide bomber is also killed.

The spokesman said most of the deceased are female.

"This attack once again proved that the ban of wearing burqa is abeneficial practice for everyone and should be respected ever," said Manga, who called on the public to cooperate with security forces.

On June 15, two suicide bomb attacks took place in N'Djamena, leaving 38 people killed and over 100 injured. The Chadian government blamed that Boko Haram was behind these attacks.

Chad sent troops to neighboring Cameroon, Nigeria and Niger to work with these countries to fight against Boko Haram.
