Baku – APA. The recordings of allegedly wiretapped conversations between the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his son Bilal Erdogan was leaked onto the internet on February 25, APA reports. The conversations allegedly took place on December 17, 2013 the day that sons of three Cabinet ministers were detained as part of a vast corruption investigation.

The recordings are purportedly of Erdogan and his son Bilal discussing how to reduce the funds to "zero" by distributing them among several businessmen. They planned to hide $1 billion cash. Phone conversations took place on December 17, at 08:02, 11:17, 15:39, 23:15 and on December 18 at 10:58. At one point, the voice supposedly of Bilal says some 30 million euros remain to be disposed of.

Some resources reported that there are photos showing large amounts of cash were taken from their home and they would be also disseminated in the near future.

The office of Turkey's Prime Minister has said that recording is a "product of montage" and it is "completely false." The Prime Ministry vowed in the statement to sue those who orchestrated this "dirty plot."

Media reports said Mr Erdogan met with Turkey's intelligence chief Hakan Fidan soon after that tape began to circulate on the internet.

Turkish main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has said the Turkish government has lost its legitimacy and called on Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to resign immediately after the leak of prime minister's voice recording. CHP Deputy Chairman Haluk Koç said in a press conference on Monday that the government has lost its entire legitimacy from "this hour" and that Turkey cannot move forward with this "dirt." The remarks by Koç came during an emergency meeting of the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK), where they discussed a new voice recording published online about a discussion allegedly between the prime minister and his son on their plan to hide $1 billion cash stashed at several houses.

Early on Tuesday, executive board of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) also held a meeting under the leadership of chairman Devlet Bahçeli. It was not immediately clear if the party would make a press statement following the talks.

One of the founders of Justice and Development Party (AKP), former Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener also commented on the issue. He said he knew the voice of the Prime Minister very well and the voice in the recording belongs to Erdogan.
