"According to the resettlement plan for the city of Khankendi, as well as Aghdara and Khojaly districts, work is ongoing to resettle the population in 19 residential areas. So far, 1,040 families – 4,064 people – of former internally displaced persons have returned to their native lands," said Elchin Yusubov, the Special Representative of the President in Khankendi city, Aghdara and Khojaly districts during his speech at the Cooperation Forum of Non-Governmental Organizations on October 20 in Khankendi, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.
It was noted that, in total, more than 22,000 people have been resettled in these areas and have been provided with all social services.
It was noted that education, healthcare, and social infrastructure in the region are being rapidly restored. The commencement of operations at Karabakh University, a modern clinic, schools, and kindergartens, as well as the development of entrepreneurship and the creation of new jobs, are making significant contributions to the sustainable resettlement of the population. It was emphasized that currently, in areas where 546 entrepreneurial facilities are operating, more than 3,000 people have been employed, and a total investment of over 65 million manats has been made.
In his speech, Elchin Yusubov stated that non-governmental organizations play an important role in the development of the territories liberated from occupation. NGOs act as key partners in the implementation of state policy, strengthening of public oversight, promotion of social projects, and reintegration processes.
