“Azerbaijan like other countries should still do much with this regard,” she said.

The Senior Adviser underlined that the number of women police should be increased so that the law on prevention of domestic violence is implemented. According to her, if women undergoing domestic violence know that women work in the police offices, they will appeal more. Jamila Seftaoui offered two ways to increase the number of women police.
“First, the women working in the staff department, as secretaries in the police offices should be involved, second the working conditions should be improved in the police in order to involve young women,” she said.
