Three animal species are killed on Earth per hour and 35 percent of marine animals were completely killed, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan said quoting the World Wildlife Fund.
A wildlife rehabilitation center and clinic were established at the Altiagac National Park in Azerbaijan to protect environment and to solve ecological problems of the country. The center rehabilitates and returns the illegally hunted animals and birds to nature. It is also breeding unique and disappearing species and releasing them. Tens of animal species were rehabilitated and released at the center so far.
The ministry said there were 890 000 square meters specially-protected wildlife areas, including 8 national parks, 12 wildlife reserves and 23 exclusion areas in the country, which cover 10.3 percent of its territory.
