President Ilham Aliyev attends international environmental exhibition â€œAzerbaijan for the green worldâ€

Baku â€“ APA. President Ilham Aliyev attended international environmental exhibition under the motto â€œAzerbaijan for the green worldâ€ in Sport-Concert Complex named after Heydar Aliyev on September 17, APA reports. Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyngulu Bagirov informed President Ilham Aliyev about the exhibition. It was noted that the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources was taking complex measures to make the environment healthier. The area of the forests has been increased much in Azerbaijan in the past 15 years. 8.2 million trees and bushes have been planted in Azerbaijan within the current â€œYear of Ecologyâ€. The Ministryâ€™s Scientific Center for Complex Hydrometeorology and Ecological Studies has 3 automated meteorological stations.
The first center for restoration and rehabilitation of the unexplored wilderness in the South Caucasus was established in Azerbaijan. Since 2003 the area of the specially protected natural reserves has been increased from 478,000ha to 890,000ha.

The machines and mechanisms used in the field of ecology were introduced to the head of state.
