School building restored in Ulyanovsk on the initiative of Azerbaijanâ€™s First Lady

Baku â€“ APA. The building of secondary school No. 78 in Ulyanovsk, Russia was overhauled within the project of Support for Education carried out on the initiative of First Lady of Azerbaijan, president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Good Will Ambassador, member of the Azerbaijani parliament Mehriban Aliyeva.

This action is in harmony with the activity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which aims to strengthen humanitarian relations between Azerbaijan and other countries, to extend relations between the educational centers of Azerbaijan and other countries, to support construction and restoration of the school buildings in Azerbaijan and outside the country, sources at the Foundation told APA.

Local authorities of Ulyanovsk, Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, executive director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alekperov, as well as representatives of the regional organization of the All-Russian Azerbaijanis Congress in Ulyanovsk attended the ceremony of opening the newly-restored school building.

Participants of the ceremony laid a wreath before the monuments of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev and outstanding political figure Nariman Narimanov in Ulyanovsk. Director of the school Gennady Tsarev made an opening speech at the ceremony. He thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on behalf of the Ulyanovsk citizens.

Governor of Ulyanovsk province Sergey Morozov expressed his gratitude to President of the Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for supporting the overhaul. Morozov presented the Honorary Diploma conferred on Mehriban Aliyeva to the Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alekberov. Mehriban Aliyeva has been awarded for her great contributions to the promotion of Azerbaijani culture, language and national traditions in Ulyanovsk province, development of friendship and cooperation between the peoples.

Polad Bulbuloglu expressed his gratitude to Mehriban Aliyeva and spoke about the activity of the Foundation and large-scale projects implemented in the humanitarian sphere. The diplomat especially underlined the contribution of Leyla Aliyeva, head of the Russian office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Chairman of the Russian parliamentâ€™s committee for education Gennadi Balikin appreciated the project implemented by Heydar Aliyev Foundation. He said the project was of great importance for the development of education system in Ulyanovsk province, relations between the Azerbaijani and Russian people.

Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alekberov conveyed Mehriban Aliyevaâ€™s best wishes to the participants of the event.

Anar Alekberov gave information about the goals, tasks of the Foundation, the projects implemented both in the country and abroad.

Following the official part of the ceremony, the participants familiarized themselves with the museum of Azerbaijani history and culture.

The project of schoolâ€™s overhaul costs 25 million rubles. At school the children from Ulyanovsk will be able to learn some kinds of Azerbaijanâ€™s national applied art. Moreover, the Foundation provided three classes of the school with 20 NEXUS notebooks produced within the framework of the project â€œ1:1 education for futureâ€ implemented in Azerbaijan.
