Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva – APA. “The Forensic Medical Examination and Pathological Anatomy Office of the Health Ministry carries out necessary measures for prevention of decomposing of bones found in the mass grave where victims of the genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijani people in Guba were buried”, director of the Forensic Medical Examination and Pathological Anatomy Office Shakir Musayev told APA. Chemical reagents used in the process will make the bones to be saved in the open air for long time. Musayev said more than 7000 bones were handed over to the center.

Senior fellow of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, head of the Guba expedition Gahraman Agayev told APA that after finishing the construction work at site, the bones treated by chemical reagents will be returned to the place. “We decided to establish a laboratory near the grave to treat those bones which we couldn’t take from the grave. There are more than 200 bodies at the depth of the well”.

Agayev said Guba Genocide memorial Complex was founded now there. Azerkorpu Company is constructing a new dam to change course of the Gudyalchay River passing near the mass grave.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev issued an order on December 30, 2009 for construction of Genocide Memorial Complex in Guba. AZN 1 million was allocated from the Reserve Fund of the President of Azerbaijan considered by the state budget 2009 to the Guba Executive Authority for the construction.
