Amount of compensations paid to flood-sufferers in Azerbaijan publicized

Asadov said according to the order of the President, the Cabinet of Ministers passed relevant decisions on the flooded areas in Kur and Araz valleys: â€œThe government will take care about every citizen suffered from the floods. The ministries established commissions. The Ministry of Emergency Situations established commissions in eight areas. The commissions inspected the flooded areas and started construction work throughout the Kur-Araz valley. We have prepared relevant documents for reconstruction of about 2000 houses, restoration of more than 1200 damaged houses and repair of more than 1000 residential buildings. More than 1400 new houses are constructed in eight regions and construction work will be completed in a month. All residential buildings are planned to be handed over later Octoberâ€.

Asadov said 104 private houses and infrastructure were built in Telishli village of Imishli region, 178 houses and infrastructure â€“ in Saatli region. 260-house micro-district is constructed near Saatli region. 80 families suffered from the floods will move there. Other families evacuated from the flooded areas will settle in newly-constructed buildings. The reconstruction and restoration work is conducted in the place of flooded building in other areasâ€.

According to Asadov, the second stage inspections were completed some days ago.
â€œAs the water in a number of villages was absorbed late, the commissions inspected the territories for the second time. Decisions on the results of the inspection will be passed from next week,â€ he said.

He underlined that construction and restoration had also started in 51 social facilities.
â€œ17 schools are being restored. As the school in Jarli village of Kurdamir region has collapsed, a new 9-form school is being constructed there,â€ he said.

Asadov also touched on the compensation for the sufferers.
â€œUnder the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, two kinds of compensations have been destined for the residents of the houses that will be repaired. The first kind of compensation is paid in accordance with the area of the houses and taking into account that those houses will be repaired by the residents themselves. The second kind of compensation is paid for the things destroyed as a result of the flooding and in accordance with the number of the family members. The measures concerning the citizens, who suffered from the flooding, but have not been included into the lists, will be realized after investigations,â€ he said.

Asadov said the payment of the compensations calculated as a result of the first stage inspections was about to end. He added that AZN 3.133 million compensation had been paid to over 3200 families. AZN 828 000 had been paid to 966 families for things.
