Abel Maharramov meets with Oklahoma National Guard’s commander – PHOTO

Baku – APA. Rector of the Baku State University (BSU), Academician Abel Maharramov received a delegation headed by Adjutant General for the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard Major General Myles L. Deering. They discussed current education program between the Baku and Oklahoma universities and opportunities to extend cooperation, BSU spokeswoman Parvana Ibrahimova told APA.
The rector spoke about the BSU’s international relations and partners abroad and said the US universities held special places among them. He spoke about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and internally displaced persons settled in the university camps.
General Miles Deering said he visited Azerbaijan for the fourth time and said it was important to discuss the problems at the same table. Mentioning the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the guest said his country was always behind Azerbaijan and supported the peaceful solution to the conflict.
The guest said Oklahoma National Guard has been a partner of the Baku State University since 2003 and Oklahoma universities have opened doors before the Azerbaijani universities, including the Baku State University.
The US delegation visited the BSU’s scientific-research laboratories as well.
