40 000 unemployed population registered in Azerbaijan

Economically active population in Azerbaijan was 4 337,4 until July 1, 2010. 4 078.100 of them are employed in the different economic and social fields. 1. 336.800 are working for hire in January-May, 2010. 849. 200 are engaged in the public and 468.500 in private sector.

19.2% of the people working for hire are engaged in the production field â€“ 2.6% - oil-extracting industry, 5.6% -refinery industry, 2.2% - electric power industry, gas, steam and condensate, as well as conditioned air supply, 1.6% - water supply and water and waste cleaning, 4.5% - construction, 2.7% - agriculture, forestry and fishery.

26.2% of service workers are engaged in the sphere of education, 20.2% - trade, auto service, 10.2% - health and social services, 5.6% - transport and storage facilities, 4% - recreation, entertainment and art, 3.8% - public administration and defense, social protection, 3.2% - professional, scientific and technical activity, 1.8% - information and communication, 1.5% - finance and insurance, 1.5% - administrative and subsidiary services, 1.35 â€“ public services, 0.9% - other services and 0.6% - real estate.

According to the statistics up to July 1, 2010, 40 000 unemployed population was registered in the country. 43.5% of them are women. 5 unemployed people applied per vacancy.
