OSCE Parliamentary Assembly president calls on states to actively adapt to global changes

Baku-APA.President of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthymiou said on Saturday that states over the world should actively adapt to global changes, APA reports quoting Xinhuia News Ahency.
Efthymiou made the remarks at the Plenary of the OSCE Foreign Ministers Informal Meeting held in the suburb of Almaty the same day. As Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev made clear in his speech at the meeting that currently the world is in the era of great changes, Efthymiou noted that each state should not just watch the changes aside, but must take actions, to actively adapt to the changes.
He said that OSCE has made many achievements in recent years, but there are many other tasks to be done in the future, it requires the member states work together to explore the potentials and innovate. In addition, Efthymiou said, behind the unstable situation in Kyrgyzstan, was the public dissatisfaction with the policies and measures made by previous government, this should be noticed by relevant parties. OSCE failed to play its due role in Kyrgyzstan, relevant countermeasures should be reviewed in the future.
At the invitation of OSCE Rotating President, Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev, foreign ministers or senior officials from 56 OSCE member states and 12 partner countries and representatives from some international organizations attended OSCE informal meeting from July 16-17 at "Ak Bulak" Resort in the suburb of Almaty.
