Gabala declaration on protection of biological diversity passed

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyn Bagirov spoke about done works connected with protection and development of biodifference in Azerbaijan. To him, Azerbaijan can be included into the list of countries which take serious steps in direction of achievement of the purposes of Convention on Biological Diversity.

Director of Europe bureau of UNEP Kristof Buvye said in his speech that future factors should be taken into consideration for maintenance of all systems. Special Advisor to the United Nations Environment Programme’s Green Economy Initiative Pavan Sukhdev made a speech at the event as well.

Issues on protection and management of biodifference in the Eastern and Central Asia region were discussed, primary topics were analyzed at the event where ecology and environment ministers and deputy ministers of Macedonia, Germany, Georgia, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Bulgaria, Turkey, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Russia and other countries participated in.

At the end of the conference there was passed Gabala declaration which would stimulate new measures related to the protection of biological diversity.
