National Hydrometeorology Department told that level of water in most rivers, as well as in Kura, Araz and Ganikh has raised due to torrential rains from May 15 to May 16. Now the highest level is in the rivers of Guba-Khazmaz region of the Greater Caucasus and it is ten-day norm is 120-344 percent; 90-210 percent in the rivers of Balakan-Shaki region, 132-203 percent in the rivers of Little Caucasus. The level of water is below norm in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara region (120-145).

Flow running to Shamkir dam through Giragkasaman terminal of the Kura River is 760(106 percent). Flow running to Mingachevir dam through Ganikh River is 110 percent, that is, 223 cu m/sec.

The level in Kura, Araz and Ganikh rivers and in their branches has risen due to rains on May 15-16. That is, water level raised 10 centimeters in Zardab settlement of Kura river, 11 in Surra, 15 in Shirvan and Salyan, 6 in Banke, 8 in Novruzlu settlement of Araz river.

High water is recorded through the entire country, as well as in the peaches of Kura, Araz and Ganikh rivers. Lower streamway of Kura River is expected to rise in the next few days.
