Azerbaijan University of Languages expands its international relations

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva – APA. Azerbaijan University of Languages held a press conference on the university’s international relations, APA reports. Pro-rector for the international relations Jala Garibova said the university’s delegation led by Rector Samad Seyidov visited Ankara University and Hacettepe University of Turkey and signed contracts on cooperation.
“Earlier, the cooperation with the Turkish universities was only on the level of student exchange. We intend to expand the cooperation,” she said.

According to Garibova, Azerbaijan University of Languages is the formal representative of Turkish Studies Center of Ankara University. According to the contract signed with Ankara University, the tests of Turkish as a foreign language will be prepared in Azerbaijan University of Languages. The persons wishing to learn Turkish will not need to go to Turkey, they will be able to test their knowledge using the tests prepared in Azerbaijan University of Languages.
“Summer school realized in Azerbaijan University of Languages through the Department of State teaches Azerbaijani to the students from the US. The experience of Ankara University will be used in teaching Azerbaijani as a foreign language,” she said.

The contract signed with Hacettepe University will serve to strengthen the translator qualification. Jala Garibova said there is a need to improve translator qualification in Azerbaijan University of Languages.
“The university will especially cooperate with Hacettepe University in the field of oral and simultaneous translation. Hacettepe University is cooperating with Strasbourg University. Our curriculum will be conformed to the curricula of these universities,” she said.
