Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev-APA. Commissioner for Human Rights of Azerbaijan Republic Elmira Suleymanova received Walter Fust, Director General of Global Humanitarian Forum in Switzerland. Press service of the Ombudsman’s Office told APA that Elmira Suleymanova spoke about her activity on protection of human rights, mutual relations with international organizations, institutions for human rights in foreign countries. The commissioner noted that as a result of lasting aggression of Armenia 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s land has been occupied, one million people have become refugees in their homeland and human rights have roughly been violated.
Fust highly appreciated the ombudsperson’s initiatives and activities in the field human rights, her efforts directed to the protection of rights of various strata of the population. The guest noted that his organization was interested in cooperation with the commissioner.
