Operational-investigative activities continue at the site of the crash of an Azerbaijani Airlines plane in Aktau, APA’s correspondent at the scene reports.
The area has been cordoned off with special tape, and unauthorized individuals are not allowed to enter the site.
Note that on December 25, the Embraer 190 aircraft, flight number J2-8243, operated by Azerbaijan Airlines on the Baku-Grozny route, diverted towards Aktau with the necessity of an emergency landing, where it crashed near the city. The causes of the crash are under investigation.
There were 67 people on board, including 62 passengers and 5 crew members.
According to initial information, it has been determined that 32 people survived, with some in critical condition.
In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, a state commission has been established under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Ali Asadov to investigate the causes of the plane crash. In line with the President’s directives, a delegation led by the Minister of Emergency Situations and the Minister of Digital Development and Transport has left for Kazakhstan in connection with the tragic crash.
From the first moment of the incident, the Azerbaijani Consulate General in Aktau has been operating at the scene. In coordination with the Kazakh side, emergency rescue operations are being carried out by the emergency rescue organizations.
