Court passes decision to terminate criminal case on Mahir Mirsalamli accused in â€œEcstasy caseâ€

The hearing on the case of Orkhan Nadirov, son of Peopleâ€™s Artist Ilhama Guliyeva, Mahir Mirsalamov and Yalchin Hasanov, sons of former Baku and Azizbayov prosecutors Adalat Mirsalamov and Rashid Hasanov and 11 others continued in the Court of Grave Crimes. APA reports that judge Azer Orujov presided over the process.
The judgment of the forensic medical examination of defendant Mahir Mirsalamli was announced in the hearing by judge Azer Orujov. According to the judgment, Mahir Mirsalamli, 23, got birth trauma, suffered from a chronic disease, vascular distention and syncope. The judgment says Mirsalamli should be examined in the medical unit of Justice Ministry.
After the judgment was announced, Mahir Mirsalamliâ€™s lawyer Narmina Mammadova petitioned to terminate the criminal case launched on her client. The petition was discussed in the hearing. The lawyers of other defendants gave their consent to the petition. Public prosecutor Nariman Alakbarov wanted the petition to be granted saying Mahir Mirsalamliâ€™s disease impeded the process.
The court passed a decision to terminate the criminal case on Mirsalamli until he recovers.
Public prosecutor petitioned to call two more persons as witnesses. The defendantsâ€™ lawyers objected to the petition. The court rejected the petition.
The hearing will continue in the second half of the day.

According to the indictment, Orkhan Nadirov, Mahir Mirsalamli, Yalchin Hasanov, Elshan Rustamov, Ali Ismayilov, Zubiye Gulami, Vugar Aliyev, Javidan Aliyev, Ramin Hasanov, Kamila Eyvazova, Elshan BUdagov, Hasan Hasanov, Mirali Aliyev faced charges under articles 234.1 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) and 234.4.1 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code.
