Chingiz Asgarov: â€œThere are nearly 1000 Azerbaijan-related applications in the European Court of Human Rightsâ€

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“APA. There are nearly 1000 Azerbaijan-related applications in the European Court of Human Rights, Azerbaijani Representative to ECHR Chingiz Asgarov said, APA reports. The Court communicated with Azerbaijan only on 70 cases. Asgarov said the Court wouldnâ€™t be applied on the Khojali Genocide because this issue was out of the European Courtâ€™s jurisdiction.
He said the issue of Khojali tragedy would be raised in other international organizations.
Asgarov said Azerbaijani internally displaced persons sent more than 1000 applications to ECHR against Armenia. He said Azerbaijan was a third party in this issue and the decision on it was expected to be made by the end of this year.

Asgarov said five Azerbaijanis living abroad â€“ four in Russia and one in Netherlands- applied the Court about the extradition and restriction of freedom rights. Asgarov said the Government of Azerbaijan was participating in these processes as a third party.
