Residents of blasted building in Nasimi District to receive AZN 42100 in compensation

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers passed a decision to allocate AZN for compensation to the residents of 4th block of the building at Javad Khan Street, 30 in Nasimi District of Baku, chairman of the district commission of emergency situations Garib Mammadov told APA.

According to the Cabinetâ€™s decision, the damaged apartments will be repaired and returned to their residents within four months. The residents will receive AZN 42 100 in compensation. Families of the blast-killed persons will receive AZN 5000 of one-time compensation. The injured persons will receive AZN 500 per capita. The residents will also receive monthly compensation to pay rent house until the completion of repairing works in their apartments.

Gas leak caused blast in apartment #60 of the five-storey building in Javad Khan Street, 30 of Nasimi district in Baku on January 16. 5 were killed and 10 injured in the aftermath of the blast.

Baku Prosecutorâ€™s Office launched criminal case on the fact on Article 314.2 (negligence, causing serious results) of the Criminal Code.

Resident of Shirvan Aliyev Orkhan Rahim, 20, who was renting apartment #60 in the building, was arrested by Nasimi district police on January 17. The blast reportedly occurred through his fault. Criminal case was launched on Article 124.2 (murdering two or more persons on imprudence) and Article 187.3 (destruction or damage of property on imprudence) of the Criminal Code.
