Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service prevented smuggling of narcotics in the jail. Public affairs department of the service told APA that on February 6, resident of Erchivan village of Astara region Huseynov Salman Valimammad, 45, and Baku resident Niftaliyev Yashar Sermas, 42, came to visit Huseynov Habib Valimammad, 48, who had faced charges under Article 234.1 of the Criminal Code and was sentenced to two years in jail. Huseynov Salman and Niftaliyev Yashar were checked, 2.5g heroin wrapped in cellophane and bound to the denture teeth of Yashar Niftaliyev was found.
A mobile phone owned by lifer Hajiyev Aflatun Ibrahim was also found in cell #110 of the jail yesterday.
The jail’s operation department is investigating both facts.
