Former assistant of Haji Gamet Suleymanov: â€œAbu Bakr mosque was built by a Kuwaiti businessmanâ€

Inspector of jail #10 of Penitentiary service Zohrab Teymurov gave testimony. He said defendant Bakhtiyar Orujov was registered in the jail in connection with suspended sentence in 2007. The witness said once a month Orujov came to the jail for registration. When he did not come to the jail on the day of registration, documents were prepared and submitted to the relevant bodies. Following this, the testimony of Alikhan Musayev, deputy chairman of Narimanov District Religious Community was announced. Musayev had earlier appealed to the court saying he would miss the hearing because of his health problems.
In his testimony Musayev said Abu Bakr mosque had been built by a Kuwaiti businessman Mahammad Ubudeyr. Musayev said his relations with chairman of the Religious Community Haji Gamet Suleymanov were not good at the moment. Alikhan Musayev said he got acquainted with Hajibala Huseynov in Gazakh region. He also noted that he had a quarrel with Huseynov in 2006.
â€œBefore I had a CD, in which Hajibala insulted Haji Gamet Suleymanov, Yashar Gurbanov and me in his khutbahs. We met in a restaurant. There we argued concerning religion. I told Hajibala he was not on the right way. I felt radicalism in his views,â€ he said.
Musayev said the actions of the above-mentioned persons contradicted Islam.
Hajibala Huseynov said Alikhan Musayevâ€™s testimony was groundless.
â€œAlikhanâ€™s uncle has announced himself a prophet. Let him mind his own business,â€ he said.
Kamran Asadovâ€™s friend Mahir Mukhtarov and Mikayil Hasanov also gave testimonies.
Defendant Shahriyar Maharramovâ€™s lawyer petitioned to acquit his client. The court rejected the petition.

Following this, the court passed a decision to announce the testimony of Chingiz Shafiyev, the commander of the corps, where Kamran Asadov had served. The testimony was announced in closed hearing.

Kamran Asadov, Bakhtiyar Orujov, Farid Jabbarov, Elshan Mammadov, Kamran Babayev, Samir Mehbaliyev, Terlan Karimov, Edgar Aliyev, Ramil Karimov, Shirvani Babayev, Samir Aliyev, Yalchin Maharramov, Orkhan Alizadeh, Hajibala Huseynov, Azer Ibadov, Shahriyar Maharramov, Ramin Jalilov, Rovshan Abdulaliyev, Ilkin Ismayilov and Vugar Aliyev are accused of setting up a radical religious group, attempting to start military struggle, attacking on LUKoil petrol station in Baku, preparing terror attack on the U.S. and UK embassies in Azerbaijan.
