Chief of 14th department of Sabunchu District Police Office Zaur Badalov told APA that Nardaran resident Haji Hikmat Valiyev was detained by the employees of Interior Ministry’s Department to Combat Organized Crimes on the night of February 2-3. He was arrested, because in one of the pickets in Nardaran he offered money for killing Rustamkhanli.
In the picket held in “Imam Huseyn†square of Nardaran on January 9, Valiyev and the other Nardaran resident Haji Ali Huseynov advised Sabir Rustamkhanli to increase the number of his bodyguards, and said they had issued death fatwa against him. Ali Huseynov was detained on January 24 and sentenced to two-month imprisonment. Criminal case was launched on the fact on Article 134 (threatening to kill or inflict serious bodily harm) of the Criminal Code. Investigation is underway.
