Nizhniy Novgorod-APA. The trial on the case of police officer Sergey Biryukov, who tortured Azerbaijani citizen Emil Dadashov, was held in Nizhniy Novgorod, the Committee against Tortures of Nizhniy Novgorod told APA.
The trial was presided over by Piryev. Lawyer of Azerbaijani citizen is Yuri Sidorov. Rights of Dadashov were ensured, when he appealed to the committee on the fact that he was beaten by police officer in investigatory isolation ward of Nizhniy Novgorod Interior Department on March 31, 2008. Preliminary investigation finds out that Dadashov was detained in investigatory isolation ward illegally and was beaten by Biryukov. Biryukov pleaded not guilty in court hearing. The investigation is under way.
